The success of the sugarcane farmers in Narsingdi

The main raw material for sugar and molasses production, by reducing hard sugarcane cultivation, cultivating yellow-colored sugarcane sugarcane makes the smile of success in the mouth of Narsingdi farmers. As the sugarcane yield is very good in the current fiscal year, there is a huge demand in the market. Sugarcane farmers of this district think that this will be beneficial for the higher price.
According to the Agriculture Office sources, sugarcane has been cultivated in 25 hectares of land in Shibpur upazila. Of these, most of the cheeses are yellow gendari, milchimala, amrit, Ishwardi-24, 28, kajla, tanai, potapati variety. To make sugar or molasses, there is hard cultivation of sugarcane. Sugarcane cultivation has been increased in Munshaferchar, Shaluradia, Kharia and Dulalpur areas of the upazila. At the same time, there are some areas of good crops like Nuralapur, Moisasura, Amdia in Sadar upazila.
Farmers said, once a time, there was a great cultivation in Shibpur. The farmers are not cultivating this sugarcane now due to non-availability of fair prices and blocking the country's Deshbandhu Sugar Mills in various disadvantages. However, the demand for sugarcane sugarcane is widespread. It is a profitable crop. If the yield is yielded once a year, there is a huge amount of money earned by selling.
Ratan Mia, a farmer of Munsafherchar village, has cultivated yellow gems in 105 hectares of land this year. It cost about 40 thousand taka for production. She started selling sugarcane. It will earn 2 lakh taka, said.
Farmer Rafiqul Islam of Kharia village said that he cultivated sugarcane on 55% of the land. It cost about 20 thousand taka. He has sold 95 thousand taka to the peasants on the land. The farmers also said that the sugarcane cultivation will increase in large scale if the agricultural department trains them.
Shibpur Upazila Agriculture Officer Hanif Sikder said that the initiative will be taken in consultation with the farmer.
